Schäffler dance to the abatement of the corona pandemic – district of Munich

Actually, the next round of performances was only on the calendar again in 2026. But as the corona pandemic waned, which, like the plague, almost brought public life to a standstill, the Munich Schäffler interrupted the traditional seven-year rhythm and performed for a few days in 2022 in the state capital and once also in the district of Munich. Under the title “Dance for Life” they will first show their skills on Thursday, May 5th at 3 p.m. in front of the district office at Mariahilfplatz 17 in Munich. The tradition is said to date back to 1517, when the plague was so bad in Munich that thousands of people died. In order to fill the citizens with new courage to live and to get life going again, the Munich Schäffler performed cheerful dances. On May 8th, the Munich Schäffler can be seen at 1.30 p.m. in the municipality of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn, Hohenbrunner Straße 8.
