The designer Adrian Runhof had a big dream – and it completely came true. When his parents, who also worked in the fashion industry, once exhibited at the Bayerischer Hof during the legendary fashion weeks, he was nine years old and ran through the winding corridors of the hotel. At some point he came to a stop in front of the Dior boutique that the mother of the current hotel manager, Innegrit Volkhardt, ran. The boy marveled at the shiny display cases and wished he could have something so beautiful one day. This is what he has now: The two showcases in the hotel lobby are designed by his label “Talbot Runhof”. And there was also a fashion show in the Palaiskeller of the five-star hotel on Friday afternoon.

The fashion from Talbot & Runhof is on the international red carpets, but is also completely compatible with the rustic flair of the Palaiskeller.

The dresses and evening gowns of the Munich duo Adrian Runhof and Johnny Talbot have long been at home on the world’s red carpets. But they fit just as well, if not perfectly, into the newly designed Palaiskeller at the “Wiesn Lady Lunch”. The colors of the velvet and taffeta shimmered perfectly with the green tones of the walls (the foundations there are up to 600 years old). It was a lively, imaginative fall-winter collection as well as a so-called Oktoberfest capsule collection that the models showed down there in the hotel.

Also interesting because one or two of the models’ heads were adorned with eye-catching patchwork hats. A style that Talbot Runhof took with them from their engagement at Gärtnerplatztheater. There, last winter, they outfitted the ensemble of the ballet “Giselle” in a subtle, weird traditional costume look: breeches, jackets and these little hats, all with a patchwork pattern. Made by the Munich upcycling studio Bellevue Couture, which in turn was created in the context of the Bellevue di Monaco refugee project.

Which is why, for example, Mayor Katrin Haben Schaden (Greens), who met the designer duo at the premiere, ran in their patchwork shirt at the Giro di Monaco. Hotel manager Innegrit Volkhardt has been wearing Talbot Runhof for a long time anyway, and so things come full circle. Doctors like Marion Kiechle, entrepreneurs like Regine Sixt and wealthy Munich women who have been using the label for 23 years met at the Ladies Lunch (no men were allowed apart from the designers, waiters and the hotel spokesman). For the Oktoberfest, a patchwork hat would now be added to the walk-in closets.
