Saxony trend: AfD strongest force – Wagenknecht party displaces left

If the new Saxon state parliament were elected on Sunday, the CDU would only get 30 percent (2019 state election: 32.1 percent). This would be their worst result in a state election. This emerges from a current survey by the opinion research institute Infratest Dimap on behalf of the MDR. The AfD would become the strongest force with 35 percent (+7.5 percentage points).

The coalition partners SPD (-0.7 percentage points) and the Greens (-1.6 percentage points) are losing support, albeit to varying degrees. They are each at seven percent. For the Social Democrats, it would be the worst result in a state election in Germany.
