Sauerlach – exam on the new building area – Munich district

In a closed session, the Sauerlach municipal council wants to debate the size of the residential development north of Hofoldinger Strasse and the speed with which it should be realised. That was agreed at the most recent meeting. An investor is planning a completely new district around the new high school in the north-east of the main town of Sauerlach, which has around 5,500 inhabitants, in which up to 1,200 people could live. Sauerlach’s third mayor, Wolfgang Büsch from the Greens, said at the meeting that his heart “stopped briefly” in view of these ideas. The municipal council must now discuss how residential development on the site can be managed at all. “It’s all about the building structure and how much new living space we can imagine,” said Büsch. “We have to look at the big picture and mutually clarify what we want.”

However, this does not change the fundamental decision to build the grammar school as quickly as possible. The municipal council commissioned the town hall administration to obtain three offers from planning offices for the new grammar school in the coming weeks. In addition, a project manager is to be brought on board to push the entire “Sauerlach Ost” project with the planned residential development. Because this, said CSU councilor Roman Richter, will be much more influential for the place than just the high school. It is now all the more important to find the right planner for the area, after all, in the long run “millions” are at stake for the community. You shouldn’t save a few tens of thousands of euros in planning costs now.

According to Mayor Barbara Bogner (Independent Citizens’ Association), the municipality can count on grants of between six and seven million euros for the construction of the new high school. However, the Free State will only pay the money in the course of the connection principle when the nine-year high school is reintroduced if the high school is ready for occupancy in 2027. The amount of funding is based on the number of students in a year. According to Bogner, there will be funds for 108 students, i.e. four high school classes.
