His Galaxy phones the manufacturer supplies improved software at very different intervals, depending on age. While the newest devices are considered monthly, others receive quarterly or semi-annual Samsung updates. In the end, some models fall completely out of the cycle.
No more update: These Samsung Galaxy phones have been retired
If you compare that Samsung April 2022 updates calendar with the current one lineup, several Galaxy phones are now missing. These are devices that were recently assigned to the semi-annual updates. They are now too old and have been sorted out accordingly.
These are the following Galaxy phones:
- Galaxy Note9
- Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+
- Galaxy A7 (2018)
- Galaxy A8 Star
- Galaxy A9 (2018)
- Galaxy J4
- Galaxy J6, Galaxy J6+
- Galaxy J7 Duo
- Galaxy J8
Anyone who owns one of the smartphones should think about a new model. Missing updates ensure that the devices are exposed to an increased security risk. In addition, the functionality suffers, because the group no longer fixes any bugs that occur.
Fewer Samsung updates for other models
Besides the removed Galaxy phones, other models have fallen out of the monthly updates section. The following five smartphones are now in the list of quarterly considered devices:

- Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Fold 5G
- Galaxy Note10 5G
- Galaxy Note10+ 5G
Others, in turn, have the manufacturer from the 3-month cycle in the biannual Update cycle shifted:
