Galloping into the 2022 election year. A new state parliament is being elected in Saarland. In the smallest area state, more than 750,000 Saarlanders are called upon to elect a new state government. It is also the first mood test for the traffic light coalition in Berlin and the new opposition leader and CDU chairman Friedrich Merz. Polls point to a change of government.
