The GDL train drivers’ union has ended its multi-day strike early, and Deutsche Bahn says it is largely operating according to its regular schedule again. A railway spokeswoman said it was possible to switch back to normal operations in the morning. In long-distance transport, not all trains are running on some routes, such as the Berlin-Cologne route. “There may also be regionally different restrictions in regional traffic during the course of Monday,” warned the company.
People who take the train in Munich will also have to be prepared for this: “Due to the shortening of the strike at short notice, we are unfortunately not able to offer the regular timetable on Monday. There will therefore be fewer S-Bahn trains on the road until Tuesday night “We’re used to it,” the railway says on its homepage. However, all lines should continue to run at least every hour.
Specifically, in Munich this means: The line S1 runs between Leuchtenbergring and Freising every 60 minutes, but does not go to the airport. The line S2 runs between Markt Schwaben and Dachau every 20 to 40 minutes, but only every hour on the other sections. The lines S3 and S4 operate every 20 to 60 minutes. The lines S6 and S7 run every 60 minutes. The line S8 runs every 20 minutes between Pasing and the airport, every 20 to 40 minutes between Pasing and Germering and every 60 minutes between Germering and Herrsching. The line S20 is completely omitted.
“If possible, we will try to offer additional trips at short notice on Monday,” says the Munich S-Bahn. However, this will probably only be possible to a limited extent. In order to offer as much space as possible, all S-Bahn trains would in any case run as long trains.
