Ukraine fends off major Russian drone attack

Almost every night, Russia launches swarms of combat drones against Ukraine. The anxious question is always: How many drones can be intercepted?
The Ukrainian military says it repelled a large-scale Russian attack with combat drones on Sunday night. Of 39 arriving The Ukrainian Air Force announced in the morning that 35 drones had been intercepted. “I thank everyone who achieved this result,” Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the military, an enemy drone struck an industrial building in the Odessa region in the south. Nobody was injured. A transmission line was damaged in the Mykolaiv region. The Shahed drones of Iranian design were launched from the Russian coast of the Sea of Azov and from the annexed Crimean peninsula. According to military information, Russia also fired four repurposed S-300 anti-aircraft missiles at ground targets in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
During a nighttime attack by Ukraine, a drone crashed into a fuel depot in the Russian border region of Kursk and burst into flames, the local governor, Roman Starovoit, said on Telegram. The fire department was on duty, he wrote. Ukraine has been repelling a Russian invasion for more than two years and is therefore attacking the attackers’ supply facilities on Russian territory.
