During the night, Ukraine attacked the Russian border region of Rostov with dozens of drones – and, according to its own statements, was extremely successful. A Russian military airfield is said to have been hit.

In a drone attack on the Morozovsk military airfield in the Rostov region of southern Russia According to Ukraine’s own media reports, half a dozen fighter jets were destroyed on the ground. “At least six Russian fighter jets were destroyed and another eight damaged,” several Ukrainian media outlets reported unanimously, citing informants in security circles.

In addition, at least 20 Russian soldiers were either killed or injured. The attack was carried out by the Ukrainian secret service SBU. There were initially no independent confirmations of this. The military airfield is located a good 270 kilometers from the front line.

The governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, had previously reported a “massive drone attack”. The Russian side said more than 40 drones were shot down by its own air defense in Rostov. A transformer station and a high-voltage line were damaged.
