After the failed coup attempt in Russia, President Vladimir Putin swore the society, the military and the security services to stick together. During an appearance on the Cathedral Square in Moscow’s Kremlin, which had been announced at short notice, he said on Tuesday that soldiers and employees of the secret services “actually prevented a civil war in Russia”. He commended their work in opposing an attempted revolt in defense of the constitutional order, life, security and liberty of citizens.
