Russia: Bold reporters call for Putin’s departure – in Kremlin media – Politics Abroad

Also because of YOU might dictator Vladimir Putin (69) at the “Day of the victory” had a lot of frustration.

One of Russia’s leading news sites briefly published a harsh criticism of the war on Monday – and called for the departure of the Kremlin tyrant.

One of the around 40 articles published on “Lenta.ru” was headlined: “Putin must go. He started a senseless war and is leading Russia into the abyss.”

And that of all days on the day of Russia’s military parade!

Meanwhile the texts are offline again, in the web archive but still available. All posts began with the remark that they were not coordinated with the leadership of the medium.

And: The articles also contained Ukrainian data on the losses of Russian soldiers in the Ukraine war! Actually, Russia’s population is vehemently shielded from these numbers.

At first there were suspicions on the internet that it could be a hacker attack. But then the previous head of the economics department, Yegor Polyakov, and his colleague Alexandra “Sasha” Miroshnikova acknowledged the courageous protest.

A statement from Polyakov said: “It was a conscious decision that Sasha and I made a long time ago. (…) We let ourselves be guided mainly by our conscience.”

The journalist continued: “I believe that all opponents of the war must unite now, regardless of their views.”

Since independent media can no longer be called up in Russia without alternative Internet access, he and his colleague decided to use Lenta’s reach, says Polyakov.

Initially, nothing was known about possible legal consequences of the action. In Russia, there are high penalties for alleged “fake news” about Russia’s armed forces. But they should be rid of their jobs, Polyakov said.

The protest by the two editors is reminiscent of the journalist Marina Ovsyannikova (43), who had previously been loyal to the line, who ran into the main news program of Russian state television shortly after Russia’s attack on Ukraine a few weeks ago with an anti-war poster.

Another incident on Russian television

In addition, criticism of the war was also read on Russian television on Monday. “Your hands are full of blood from thousands of dead Ukrainians and children,” it said.

Even the names of TV stations are said to have been displayed as “blood is on your hands”. Behind this incident were obviously hackers.
