The “Let’s Dance” couples normally dance for the audience’s favor in a studio in Cologne-Ossendorf – but now there is a change of location. A famous nightclub beckons.

The RTL show “Let’s Dance” is leaving its traditional TV studio for the first time. The reason is a special musical edition on May 10th, as the broadcaster announced. The quarter-finals of the current season planned for that day will then take place in the backdrop of “Moulin Rouge!”. The famous musical has been based in the Musical Dome since 2022, which is within sight of Cologne Cathedral and close to the Rhine.

The location is around seven kilometers as the crow flies from the “Let’s Dance” studio in Cologne-Ossendorf. RTL also wants to move the famous jury desk, where Joachim Llambi, Motsi Mabuse and Jorge González sit, there for the special edition.

The musical will also have an impact on the show in terms of content, as the broadcaster explained. “The five remaining couples will dance in the quarter-finals to selected songs from Germany’s current hit musical, setting off not only musical fireworks, but also dance fireworks,” the broadcaster promised. The cast of the musical will also open the show, which has the motto “A Special Musical Night”.

For the “Moulin Rouge!” The Musical Dome was once extensively redesigned. Lots of ornate details, bold red and velvet are intended to evoke the legendary French nightclub that is at the center of the story. The bombast production is based on the 2001 film “Moulin Rouge”.
