RTL irritates viewers with decision

A celebrity actually had to leave the camp on Friday evening. But RTL had a different plan – and it caused question marks among the audience.

The grand finale will take place on Sunday. Then the last three celebrities fight for the coveted crown and the scepter. Before that happens, two more stars have to leave the jungle camp. The next exit was actually planned for Friday evening.

But RTL quickly canceled it. “Nobody is being thrown out of the camp today, because we lost Heinz and Cora prematurely, we have to postpone the deselection again,” explained moderator Jan Köppen to the viewers in front of the screens.

Cora Schumacher left the camp voluntarily

However, the reason for this decision made some fans sit up and take notice. Cora Schumacher left the jungle camp on the third day. The 47-year-old’s exit has already been cited once as a reason for a canceled expulsion. RTL announced on January 23rd that the first excerpt this year would only take place a day later.

“We are making an exception this time. Since Cora Schumacher voluntarily left the camp at the beginning of the week and no one has moved up, the remaining eleven stars are all allowed to stay together for one day longer,” it was announced on Instagram at the time. Now RTL is once again using Ralf Schumacher’s ex as an excuse to postpone an exit.

Was the expulsion postponed because of Mike and Leyla?

Many viewers cannot understand this decision. “RTL, are you kidding us? Last week you started voting out a day later because of Cora,” commented a user on Started getting picked out a day later? Makes no sense at all.” This viewer was also irritated: “Today, for the second time, no one is flying because of Cora, I’m confused.”

But Leyla and Mike are not necessarily among this year’s favorites and could be voted out next. Maybe the broadcaster wanted to prevent that. “No one is flying out today so that the Mike-Leyla love story can continue,” one user is sure. “They knew exactly that we wanted to separate Mike and Leyla. That’s why no one is flying today,” said another.

Only the broadcaster knows why RTL made this decision. But one thing is certain: two residents will have to leave the camp on Saturday, as a station spokeswoman confirmed when asked by t-online. As in previous years, only three stars will make it to the final this year.

The 17th season of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” started on January 19th. This year’s edition is a very special one for RTL. The format flickered across screens for the first time 20 years ago.

Of the twelve stars, only five candidates are currently fighting for the crown and the prize money of 100,000 euros. Cora Schumacher voluntarily left the camp on day three. Now she wants to fight for her jungle fee. Meanwhile, the other residents devote themselves to the fight for the stars.

Who will win the race will be revealed on February 4th. Then the big finale starts. Like last year, RTL is broadcasting one more episode this year. A trick with which the broadcaster earns millions. Read more about the topic here: Money machine jungle camp.
