After “Trooping The Color” the royal family showed up on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Prince Louis caused laughter again.

The royals show themselves to the people: Among others, King Charles III. (74), Princess Kate (41), Prince William (40), Princess Charlotte (8), Prince Louis (5) and Prince George (9) gathered on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on the day of the “Trooping The Color” military parade . From this special square, they watched Royal Air Force planes fly over the residence in honor of the king.

Also on the balcony of the palace was Queen Camilla (75) next to her husband Charles. There were also Charles’ sister Princess Anne (72), her husband Sir Timothy Laurence (68) and Charles’ brother Prince Edward (59) and his wife Sophie (58), Duchess of Edinburgh.

Five-year-old Prince Louis once again caused laughter at the balcony appearance when he appeared to salute there. The youngest son of Prince William and Princess Kate is considered the royal grimace king.

First Birthday Parade in honor of King Charles

Earlier, members of the royal family led the parade in London. King Charles, dressed in military uniform, sat on his horse accompanied by his son, heir apparent Prince William, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, also on horses. According to British media reports, it is the first time in more than 30 years that a monarch has been on horseback in “Trooping the Color”. Charles’ late mother, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), last rode a horse in the parade in 1986.

Other members of the royal family followed in carriages, including Queen Camilla and Kate, the Princess of Wales, and William and Kate’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

1400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians take part in the royal procession. The British monarch’s birthday has been celebrated with the military parade for more than 260 years, as the palace announces on its website.

Charles’ birthday is November 14th. Regardless of this, “Trooping the Color” is always celebrated in June. This was introduced by Edward VII (1841-1910). So that there is a chance of better weather for the open-air parade, he moved the event to early summer.
