After a two-year Corona break, more than half a million people are expected in Mainz for today’s Shrove Monday procession. The train started punctually at 11:11 a.m.

137 train numbers and 1,000 police officers

There are 137 train numbers in total. Including five that can come up with superlatives. According to the police, more than 1,000 officers in uniform and civilians ensure security during the Shrove Monday procession.

According to the Federal Police, many visitors arrived by train at the Mainz train stations in the morning. So far, the arrival traffic has run without problems.
