Rosamund Pike at the Golden Globes
That’s why she wears a veil
Rosamund Pike made the most dramatic appearance at the Golden Globes. She appeared wearing a black lace veil.
Face was “completely destroyed”
The actress wore the decorative headdress for a very specific reason, as she revealed to Variety at the event. “I had a skiing accident over Christmas. Not exactly what you want when you have to go to the Golden Globes on January 7th.” Her face was “completely destroyed” and she thought she had to “do something.” Even though the injuries are now barely visible, she decided to keep the veil. “I fell in love with this look.”
Pike’s dramatic veil was the perfect complement to her Dior haute couture dream. The black, off-the-shoulder dress with a flared skirt was covered in black lace from top to bottom. A special eye-catcher was the transparent mesh material that covered her shoulders and arms and was also trimmed with black lace, adding sophisticated details.
She came away empty-handed at the Globes
Pike was nominated in the “Best Supporting Actress” category for her thriller “Saltburn,” which was released at the end of 2023. But she had to admit defeat to Da’Vine Joy Randolph (37), who won the prize for her role in “The Holdovers”.
Pike became known in 2002 as a Bond girl in the 007 film “Die Another Day”. Since then she has appeared in numerous hits, including “Pride and Prejudice” (2005), “An Education” (2009) and “Gone Girl – The Perfect Victim” (2014). For her role in the film “I Care a Lot” (2020), she won a Golden Globe in the category “Best Actress – Comedy or Musical” in 2021.
