Mourning for Ron Tutt. The famous drummer died at the age of 83. He was a longtime companion of rock legend Elvis Presley.

Ron “Ronnie” Tutt has passed away. The drummer, who worked with Elvis Presley (1935-1977) among others, was 83 years old. The drummer’s death has been confirmed on graceland.com. Tutt accompanied Elvis Presley for almost a decade until his death in 1977.

Ron Tutt: a “drummer and good friend”

“In addition to being a legendary drummer, he was also a good friend of many here at Graceland. We enjoyed it every time he came here to celebrate Elvis Week, Elvis’ birthday and many other special occasions,” said it in the statement. Tutt also worked on two Billy Joel albums. The drummer also worked for the Carpenters, Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond and Jerry Garcia.
