Roland Kaiser was surprised by his four children on the TV show for his stage anniversary – and was moved to tears by their words.

In the TV show for the 50th stage anniversary “Giovanni Zarrella presents: 50 years Roland Kaiser” (ZDF), there was a touching moment on Saturday evening (February 24th) in which the celebrated pop star Roland Kaiser (71) could no longer contain himself. In one clip, his four children could be seen saying loving things about theirs famous father said.

About the video, which now too on the anniversary’s Instagram pages and the “Giovanni Zarrella Show” can be seen, it says: “Tissue alert! When the royal family gathers on a sofa for the first time, even an emperor can’t hold back his tears! What a declaration of love.”

“Roland is generally a really humorous guy”

And in fact, Roland Kaiser’s daughter Annalena (24), her biological brother Jan (27) and the two stepbrothers Hendrik (32) and Tim (35) only have loving things to say:

“My school performance left a lot to be desired, so there was a need for my parents to please come to school – Dad didn’t let me miss that,” says Jan, “the cheekiest” in the group.

Tim reveals that his mother was more strict, “and you went to your dad if you wanted to negotiate again.” The 35-year-old is also the one who made the musician a grandfather – “together with my wife Anni, that wasn’t an individual achievement,” he adds, to the amusement of his siblings. He also says about his father: “He’s a nonsense grandpa. Roland is generally a super humorous guy and always has fun with everyone and it’s the same with the grandchildren, my two children Mia and Mats.”

How musical are the Kaiser children?

“Well, I can’t sing, but I now produce music and play music,” Hendrik answers the question. “I definitely didn’t inherit my musical talent,” says Jan.

When it comes to his favorite songs from Roland Kaiser’s work, Jan mentions “Everything you want” and “Never say never” and raves about his father’s “limitless optimism”. “Extreme” (1998), on the other hand, is Annalena’s “all-time favorite.” “I associate a song by my father with my childhood because he wrote it for me. The title is called ‘My Son’,” says Hendrik proudly. Tim describes himself as “quite sure of the lyrics” when it comes to the newer songs because they are often played in the car – also because his two children “like to listen to Grandpa Roland”. What they like to hear most is “the song where Grandpa washes the glasses,” he adds. What is meant is the song “Kurios” (2019).

Loving conclusion from the four children

“Dad is an incredibly loving person with whom I have a very close relationship,” says Jan. He is his best friend. “He is a role model when it comes to social commitment and tolerance towards other people,” adds Hendrik. “I have a bit of this fighting spirit from him,” says Annalena, adding: “As a young woman, it helps me a lot to assert myself and be taken seriously.” And Tim explains: “He is someone who supports his children endlessly. He is not my biological father. I have known him since I was six, so for a good 30 years. But he is still like a father to me.”

ZDF celebrated Roland Kaiser’s professional anniversary with the Saturday evening show “Giovanni Zarrella presents: 50 years of Roland Kaiser”. In the three-hour, pre-recorded broadcast, friends and companions such as Mary Roos, Thomas Anders, Albert Hammond, Beatrice Egli, Nino de Angelo, Kerstin Ott, Oli.P, Bülent Ceylan, Semino Rossi, Kim Fisher, Melissa Naschenweng and Gregor stood next to the jubilee Meyle and Maite Kelly on stage.
