Flood warning for Wenden in the Olpe district
A warning of flooding in the Sauerland has been issued.
The district control center Olpe has warned of floods in the municipality of Wenden. There “there is a risk of flooding,” the district in North Rhine-Westphalia said via the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) in Bonn.
People who were in the affected area should therefore switch off heating and cooking devices, go to a safe place and follow the instructions of the emergency services.
“Also think about your immediate neighbors. Help children, the elderly and people with limited mobility,” said the official warning message published at 9:30 p.m. People in the area should also not enter basements and stay away from running water. Further information was initially not known.
