The main actor for the “Road House” remake has been found. Jake Gyllenhaal will play Patrick Swayze.

The main actor for the remake of the film classic “Road House” (1989) with actor Patrick Swayze (1952-2009) has been found. As Amazon has now announced, US star Jake Gyllenhaal (41) will slip into the role of the former professional fighter (UFC), who protects a bar in the Florida Keys from the mafia as a bouncer and makes powerful enemies in the process.

Directed by Doug Liman (57, “The Bourne Identity”, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”) from a screenplay by Anthony Bagarozzi (“The Nice Guys”) and Charles Mondry (“Doc Savage”). Joel Silver (“Matrix”) is the producer. Also joining the cast are Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, BK Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp and Bob Menery.

Production on the Amazon Original film begins this month in the Dominican Republic and will be available on Prime Video upon release in more than 240 countries worldwide.
