Rheinmetall: tanks and pumps, a lucrative business – economy

Armaments and technologies for the energy transition do not have much in common. Except: Both are booming now. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Rheinmetall is now getting into the heat pump business.

At first glance, infantry fighting vehicles and heat pumps do not have that much in common. The former are used in war (the manufacturers prefer to speak of defense and security here). They are mostly found where infantrymen are brought into combat, either in war or in military maneuvers where war is practiced. Heat pumps are usually not taken further than to the next basement, where they are then – to put it simply – to convert the energy stored in the air, water and soil into heat.
