Retirement provision: What a ban on commission would bring – Economy

There is a heated debate in the EU about commissions for life insurance and other old-age provision contracts. Researchers have now calculated what a ban would bring: up to 90 percent more assets for customers.

7.7 billion euros were in 2020, even 8.3 billion euros then in 2021, for 2022 the exact amount is not yet known, but it should be similar: Anyone who signs a life insurance policy in Germany pays gigantic acquisition costs, adding up year after year amounting to billions. Most of it is commissions for distributors, agents and banks.
