This is likely to encourage some retirees to take out the calculator …
Court of Audit gave back
a report last Tuesday, in which she pins the
National old-age insurance fund (CNAV).

In his viewfinder: “errors” having a “financial impact” on pensions “newly awarded or revised”, according to the report spotted by our colleagues from World. Three times out of four, this anomaly occurs to the detriment of the citizen. Clearly, many retirees have seen their pensions cut with a difference of 123 euros per year for the median in 2020 (half had a higher amount, the other lower).

One in six cases marred by anomalies

Not only is this shortfall not new, but it is affecting more and more French people. Indeed, according to this report, in 2020, these errors concerned one in six cases (16.4%). It was one in nine five years ago.

Several ministers banged their fists on the table. Ensuring that “a clear improvement in the quality of the payment of benefits paid, in particular a reduction in the frequency of anomalies, is expected from 2021”, according to a press release signed by Olivier Véran (Minister of Health), Olivier Dussopt (accounts public) and Laurent Pietraszewski (retreats). The Director of Social Security, Franck Von Lennep assured that an “action plan” had been implemented by the CNAV to remedy these degradations.
