“My poem is my knife” was the name of a poetry anthology in the 1960s. That always sounded a bit like paper tiger. Now a book has been published that is actually one of the most defensive: the lyrical montage “Reparation Jew”, the enormously strong literary debut in many respects by the author and pianist Daniel Arkadij Gerzenberg, who, among other things, teaches song interpretation at the University of the Arts in Berlin.
