Rent a garage or parking space: is it worth it? – Your SZ

No strict tenant protection, no rent cap: some buy parking spaces only to rent them out. Is it worth it? At least the effort is less than with apartments. What to look out for.

Almost everyone thinks of apartments first when renting out, but an investment in garages or parking spaces could be a very good alternative. The maintenance costs are quite low, hardly anything can break – apart from the garage door or lightbulbs – and garages are not subject to the strict protection against dismissal like apartments. This type of property is well suited for people who would like to gain something from the real estate business, but shy away from large investments in condominiums. The increasing reduction in inner city parking spaces in particular is playing into the cards for owners.
