Rennes-2 University blocked after a meeting with Louis Boyard

The most teasing will say that she was slow to make up her mind. This Monday, February 6, Rennes-2 University saw several hundred students vote to block the faculty of human sciences. A vote by show of hands was improvised after a public meeting of the deputy La France insoumise Louis Boyard. The young elected official was the guest of the Union pirate student union to speak on the eve of the third mobilization against the pension reform. No wonder the deputy accepted, since two of his parliamentary assistants remain active members of the Pirate Union, the majority union at Rennes University.

From the blocking vote, hundreds of students began to empty the rooms of their furniture. Dozens of tables and hundreds of chairs were taken out of buildings L and D. “In fifteen years at Rennes-2, I had never seen so many students block so quickly”, assures Fabien Caillé, close collaborator of the deputy Louis Boyard. “It had been brewing for a while,” he adds. The courses planned in the rooms emptied of their furniture are cancelled. It is not known for the moment if all the teachings are concerned.

A third day of protest is scheduled for Tuesday, February 7 at the call of the unions and several political parties. In Rennes, the event will take place from 11 a.m. During the first two rallies, between 20,000 and 30,000 demonstrators marched through the Breton capital.
