Deutsche Bahn needs 45 billion euros to renew its ailing route network. 27 of them are now certain – but how the rest of the rest is to be taken care of is completely open.
Here 11.5 billion euros, there 12.5 billion, and then another three billion euros from Deutsche Bahn (DB) itself. The funds for the decades overdue renovation of the rail network are making progress. According to the will of the Berlin traffic light coalition, a total of 27 million euros would be collected if everything goes as planned and decided this Wednesday by the federal cabinet with a new billion-euro package.
