Because of the double strike in Hollywood: Renée Zellweger’s fourth appearance as Bridget Jones could be significantly delayed.

Renée Zellweger’s (54) fourth appearance as Bridget Jones could be significantly delayed. The film, which was first announced in summer 2022, is threatened according to “The Sun” a delay of two years. The reason is the actors’ and writers’ strike that is currently paralyzing Hollywood.

“It’s a nightmare for the film bosses,” the Sun quoted an unnamed source as saying. “It took forever to get everyone on board for ‘Bridget Jones’ 4 and now the strike means it’s in jeopardy,” the insider said.

“Renée is one of the biggest names in Hollywood and has signed on for several films over the years to come.” Zellweger only had a small time window for her comeback as a lovable mess. However, the industrial dispute messed up the plan.

About a year ago, the first message circulated that “Bridget Jones 4” was in the works. In October 2022, Helen Fielding (65) confirmed that she was working on a screenplay. It is based on her 2013 novel Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy.

Bridget Jones got married – that happens in part 4

The titular heroine had married and was pregnant in the third film of 2016. Now she is in her early 50s and is struggling to get by as a single mother of two children – at least in the novel.

In 2001, Renée Zellweger slipped into Bridget Jones’ infamous granny panties for the first time. The Texan received her first Oscar nomination for her portrait of the British cult figure. “Bridget Jones – Chocolate for Breakfast” was followed by a sequel in 2004 and a later third part in 2016.
