Renaissance, a new party to reactivate Macronist “overcoming”

At the head of this single list, the president of the Renew group in the European Parliament, Stéphane Séjourné, therefore becomes the new secretary general of the presidential party. Its mission is first to make it exist.

En Marche!, which became LRM before the 2017 legislative elections, had accompanied Emmanuel Macron in his conquest of power. But this training where you could join with a simple click never weighed. Neither on the ministers, nor on Matignon, nor on the Elysée… Saturday evening, the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, suggested that Renaissance be “the sting” of an executive faced with multiple crises (Ukraine, energy, climate). “We are in a period of upheaval. We are determined to overcome these major upheavals, sometimes even to make them accelerators in a period when certain transformations are no longer options. »

Thought by Stéphane Séjourné, in close connection with Emmanuel Macron, Renaissance is a more classic party in its organization. Even if a status of sympathizer will exist, the members will have to pay a contribution. And he aspires to fill one of the gaps in macronism: territorial anchoring. Local committees and departmental offices will be created. His mission will also be to prepare for the electoral deadlines, while remaining faithful to Emmanuel Macron’s strategy: overcoming, the key theme of Saturday’s evening and cement of the macronists since 2016.
