Relaxation in Ebersberg – Finally a one before the decimal point – Ebersberg

It is well known that autumn is said to be rather dreary. However, this finding does not apply to the labor market in the region – the responsible employment agency speaks of an “autumn revival” in its latest press release. What is meant is the renewed decline in the number of unemployed in October – even to the lowest value since the start of the corona pandemic in March 2020. In the district of the Freising Employment Agency, which also includes the districts of Erding, Dachau and Ebersberg, were in October 7,936 women and men without a job, 677 fewer than in the previous month. The unemployment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month to 2.1 percent. In October a year ago, the total unemployment rate for the districts of Freising, Erding, Dachau and Ebersberg was 2.7 percent.

“The effects of the pandemic on our labor market are still noticeable, short-time working is still present and the pre-crisis level has not yet been reached – but the direction is right,” says Katja Kürmaier, Deputy Head of the Freising Employment Agency. In the end, all groups of people have benefited from the increasing absorption capacity of the labor market. This is also reflected in the demand for personnel in the region: In October, 1159 new jobs were reported to the employment agency. In total there were 5,006 job offers in the job pool, so the number of vacancies has almost reached the level before the pandemic: In October 2019, a total of 5045 vacancies were reported in the four districts. For comparison: a year ago, in October 2020, there were only 3963 vacancies in the job pool of the Freising agency district.

Personnel was sought in October, among other things, for the manufacturing industry with 1156 vacancies. 1084 job vacancies were registered in the transport, logistics, safety and security occupational area. In the area of commercial services, trade, sales and tourism, employees were recently asked for 855 positions.

The current figures for the district of Ebersberg are also very encouraging. The number of unemployed fell by 165 in October to a total of 1,580 men and women. The unemployment rate fell compared to the previous month by 0.2 percentage points to 1.9 percent. This means that for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, there was a one in front of the decimal point in the unemployment rate in the autumn month.

There was a significant decrease in unemployment in the district among the group of people under 25 years of age. The youth unemployment rate fell by 0.6 percentage points in October: it reached a value of 1.4 percent – and thus the same level as it was before the pandemic in October 2019. The companies in the Ebersberg area informed the employer service of their employment agency in October about 293 new positions to be filled. In total, there were 1416 job offers in the job pool of the Ebersberg Employment Agency.
