In December 2023, the Federal Prosecutor General brought charges against 27 men and women. They are said to be ringleaders, founders, members or supporters of a suspected terrorist organization that wanted to use armed force to overthrow the Bundestag and eliminate the democratic system. The star was able to view the indictment and thousands of pages of investigative files – and use them to reconstruct how far the conspirators were in their preparations for a possible coup.
