Fritz Kittel never said anything to his family. His children, his grandchildren, they had no idea what their father, their grandfather, had done at the end of the Second World War. Kittel, then a Deutsche Reichsbahn worker, forged a Reichsbahn ID card and created two new identities to save the lives of a Jewish girl and her mother by passing them off as his wife and daughter.
