The telenovela “Rote Rosen” gets another star guest. Olympic champion Heike Drechsler will appear in three episodes in May.

At “Red “Roses” will soon be particularly sporty! Heike Drechsler (59) will take on a guest role in the long-running ARD telenovela. According to a press release, the former track and field athlete and Olympic champion will be seen in episodes 3977, 3978 and 3979, which will be broadcast between April 7th. and May 10th. “Rote Rosen” usually runs Monday to Friday at 2:10 p.m. on First.

Drechsler’s role also has to do with sport

Heike Drechsler is one of the best-known track and field athletes in the country. She won Olympic gold medals in the long jump in 1992 and 2000 and was also active in the heptathlon. She can now contribute her expertise to “Rote Rosen” in keeping with the plot.

Spoiler alert: According to the announcement, heptathlete Leyla, played by Alinda Yamaci, can hardly believe that Drechsler is currently staying in Lüneburg. She gets in touch with the athlete through Mo (Yunus Cumartpay) and can also train with her. The tips from the experienced wood turners helped Leyla get back to her old form and get back on track for the Olympics.

Then it’s off to the summer break

The performance comes before a long summer break for “Rote Rosen” and “Sturm der Liebe”. As Erste recently announced, “Rote Rosen” will be leaving the screens for nine weeks starting June 17th. New episodes will continue on August 19th. The telenovela “Sturm der Liebe”, which is also airing on the first channel, will go into summer break on May 21st and will also return on August 19th.
