Red card withdrawn for Vinicius, grandstand closed in Valencia

According to information from brand, the Spanish Competitions Commission decided on Tuesday to cancel the red card of Vinicius, excluded in Valencia on Sunday during the defeat of Real Madrid in La Liga (0-1). The Brazilian had been the victim of racist cries by Spanish supporters. “There is an extraordinary, serious and totally unusual circumstance, which determines in our opinion that the decision adopted by the arbitrator, reflected in the minutes here, is clearly arbitrary, because it is adopted on a biased and partial factual basis, which determined that it is manifestly invalid to base a sanction on this decision”the Commission said in its report.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced, for its part, the closure for five matches of the stand of Valencia Mario Alberto Kempes. A fine of 45,000 euros was also imposed on the club. “It is considered proven that, as reflected in the referee’s report, racist cries were made against Real Madrid player Vinicius”communicated the federation.
