In the “Reichsbürger” trial in Stuttgart, a defendant spoke out about the allegations for the first time. He distanced himself from the alleged motives for the crime.

In the terror trial against the alleged group of conspirators around Henry XIII. Prince Reuss, one of the defendants, has a strong penchant for Crisis preparedness presented.

His father, a war veteran, had always taken “extreme precautions” and once obtained an offer for a small fallout shelter in the garden, the 55-year-old reported to the Higher Regional Court in Stuttgart. The father passed this on to his sister and him, so the topic of power outages was very important to him. “Scenarios like this make me feel uneasy.”

At the same time, he clearly distanced himself from the “Reich Citizens” conspiracy theories. He was contacted at the time because several people wanted to set up homeland security forces in the event of a system collapse and an IT specialist was needed for this, the engineer told the Higher Regional Court. But he had nothing to do with the narratives surrounding a “Day X” or an international political “alliance”. He likes to listen to something like this for a long time, “even if it sounds wrong to many others.” But he just wanted to network people and build structures for disaster protection.

The trial in Stuttgart is the first of three mammoth trials against the group around Henry XIII. Prince Reuss. The total of 26 defendants are said to have planned a violent overthrow of the federal government. The 55-year-old is the first defendant to comment on the allegations.

The engineer is the first of the defendants to comment on the allegations. When asked by a lawyer on Monday, he described his political stance as left-green.
