Farmers in Brittany alone have already suffered “tens of millions of euros” in damage in a few hours. So you can imagine that if we compile all the French territories hit by storms Ciaran and Domingos, the damage bill will be steep. According to France Assureurs, the damage caused by the two autumn storms is already estimated at 1.3 billion euros. The main professional representative body for insurance companies estimates that this is “one of the largest financial losses linked to storms in France” with 517,000 claims recorded.
And again, the numerical estimate provided does not take into account the recent floods that occurred in the Pas-de-Calais and Nord departments, which will further increase the toll.
