The situation for the cargo bike brand “Babboe” is getting worse. The company had to recall some models in mid-February. The Dutch goods inspection authority NVWA found a high risk of bicycle frames breaking. Trade in all Babboe models was discontinued and the company recommended that customers not use the bikes. Now the NVWA has also initiated a criminal investigation against the manufacturer. The authority confirmed this on Wednesday.
