Real Madrid – Vinicius Junior wants to extend: “Contract is still the one I had when I was 16”

Vinicius Junior could soon face a salary increase. The Brazilian plays strong at Real Madrid – and that could now be rewarded.

Vinicius Junior wants to extend his contract with Real Madrid. His current working paper, which he signed in spring 2017, no longer lives up to his current status.

“The contract I have is still the one I had when I was 16,” said the now 21-year-old in an interview on ‘Esporte Interativo’ TNT Brazil. It is unclear whether the contract will run until 2024 or 2025.

According to reports, the Brazilian, who has finally become a top performer this season, earns 3.2 million euros net. The fact that Vinicius is in the lower third of the Real squad does not play “any role” for him, but he is not averse to an extension of the contract.

Vinicius: “Of course I want to extend it”

“I wasn’t told anything, but I’m very relaxed because there is still a lot of time. Of course I want to extend it, of course I want to stay here for a long time,” said the left winger.

Like the Spanish newspaper Marca reported, the desire is mutual. Los Blancos are aware that an extension and the associated increase in salary should soon be on the agenda.

Vinicius is in the current season with nine goals and five assists in 14 competitive games. The offensive man moved from Flamengo to Madrid in the summer of 2018 for 45 million euros.
