Wales star Gareth Bale is apparently specifically looking to quit in the summer. The decisive factor is whether Wales will be able to participate in the World Cup.
Gareth Bale’s contract with Real Madrid expires next summer. After that, the Welshman can apparently imagine retiring from his career. As Sky sports reports, Bale’s future is determined by his home country Wales qualifying for the winter World Cup. Should the British not take part in the tournament, the 32-year-old is apparently planning to end his career in the summer.
Wales face Austria in the playoffs in Cardiff in March. If you win, there will be a showdown against Ukraine or Scotland. According to the report, Bale would only have the motivation to continue his career if he qualified for the World Cup.
Gareth Bale has no future at Real Madrid
His contract with Real Madrid would expire in the summer. Bale has no future there anyway, under coach Carlo Ancelotti he only made three appearances this season, also because of a protracted knee and calf injury.
Recently, rumors of a possible return to the Premier League made the rounds. Cardiff City, Swansea and Southampton FC are said to be interested.
