RBB: Podcast with Rammstein keyboard player “Flake” will not be broadcast – culture

The RBB leaves the radio column of the Rammstein-musician Christian “Flake” Lorenz pause. For more than three years, the keyboarder has been designing the monthly for the Berlin radio station Radioeins Broadcast with Flake for the evening program. The program also appears as a podcast under the title “Flake. Des Kartenfickers Podcast”. In it, the musician tells personal stories and anecdotes from the world of music on topics such as “time”, “farewell”, “hair” or – as the May episode is titled – “crying” and presents suitable music titles.

The latest episode should have been on the radio on Tuesday evening. Instead, a replacement program was broadcast in the slot at 9 p.m. Listeners only found out about the program change shortly before the start. The broadcaster explained the failure with the following words:

“Dear radioeins listeners. At this point, ‘The Show with Flake’ would be broadcast today as scheduled. Since Rammstein are on tour, we had planned a pre-produced show as usual, which now, given the debate surrounding Rammstein, seems inappropriate. However, Flake currently sees no possibility of producing a new program that can deal with the current situation. Therefore, Radioeins, in consultation with Flake, has decided that its program will be paused. As a result, a program from 23.6. in memory of Françoise Cactus will be broadcast today. 2020.”

This statement is too in writing on the Radioeins website still visible. The broadcaster leaves open what topic the current episode of Flake’s show should have been about. When asked by the SZ, the RBB announced that the format had by no means been discontinued. Radioeins reserves the right to “reassess the situation before the next regular broadcast date and will also exchange information with Flake”.

The Berlin public prosecutor’s office is now investigating against his band member, Rammstein singer Till Lindemann, as it became known on Wednesday. Several women had made allegations against Lindemann. They reported on an alleged system that primarily serves to introduce young women to the band’s frontman. There were also sexual acts that women described as violent and abusive. The Southgerman newspaper and the NDR had reported about it. Alleged victims and witnesses also reported in numerous other media. Lindemann had allegations against him rejected.
