Chips, pharmaceuticals, lead, lithium: Germany and Europe are dependent on countries with a dubious reputation in many areas. Robert Habeck’s advisors now want to change that – and have a plan.
According to experts, Germany and the EU must do significantly more to ensure a reliable supply of computer chips, raw materials, medicines and other critical products to Europe and to support companies in diversifying their supply chains. This is the conclusion reached by a report from the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry of Economics South German newspaper available in advance. In the study, the scientists advocate, among other things, the establishment of a “European Office for Security of Supply” that collects all the necessary information, warns in good time of impending problems, organizes stress tests and supports companies.
