RATP, SNCF… Forecasts of transport disruptions

The protest against the pension reform continues in transport. A new call for a general strike was launched by the unions for Wednesday, the eighth day of interprofessional mobilization for the government bill. However, the movement promises to be a little less followed than the other days of national mobilization. Update on the disruptions announced in transport.

Three out of five TGVs at the SNCF

Traffic will remain disrupted on Wednesday at the SNCF with in particular three out of five TGVs and difficulties in Ile-de-France, according to management. Traffic will be broadly similar to that of Monday and Tuesday, with three TGV Inoui and Ouigo out of five, one Intercity out of three, no night train and two TER out of five on the national average, SNCF Voyageurs said on Tuesday.

In the Paris region, traffic will remain degraded on the D and R lines with two trains out of five on average – and in particular an interruption between Châtelet-les-Halles and Gare de Lyon for the D. Three quarters of the trains must run on the lines E and P, two-thirds for lines C, H, J and L, and half of the usual service for RER A and B, as well as on line N. Service will be normal on lines K, U, T4, T11 and T13. SNCF traffic has been disrupted since the launch on March 7 of a renewable strike at the call of all railway unions against the pension reform.

Slight disruptions in the Paris metro

Traffic will be slightly disrupted in the Paris metro on Wednesday and very disrupted in the RER, the RATP said on Tuesday. The RATP foresees more or less significant disruptions on certain metro lines: one in two trains on lines 3 and 13 – with the latter only open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. -, one in three in the afternoon on the 12 and two out of three on lines 2, 7 and 8. The other lines – 1, 3bis, 4, 5, 6, 7bis, 10, 11, 12 in the morning and 14 – must circulate normally.

The RATP is planning at the same time one out of two trains on lines A and B of the RER, for this national day of action which also marks the ninth day of a renewable strike at the call of the unions. Service should be normal on the Régie’s bus and tram networks.

For Thursday, the RATP expects “normal or almost normal” traffic in the metro, “almost normal” on line A of the RER and “disturbed” on line B.

Some flight cancellations

In the air, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) asked airlines to cancel 20% of their flights at Paris-Orly on Wednesday due to a strike by air traffic controllers.

Flight cancellations for this new day of interprofessional mobilization are thus expected to be fewer than last week, when they had affected, in addition to the Parisian platforms of Orly and Roissy, airports in the region, and concerned up to 30% of device movements.
