Rammstein case – Lithuanian public prosecutor’s office investigates allegations of defamation
The Lithuanian public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into defamation. The authorities confirmed this. However, WELT was told that no one had been incriminated in the investigation so far.
IIn the affair surrounding alleged illegal actions on the sidelines of concerts by the German band Rammstein, the public prosecutor’s office in Lithuania is investigating allegations of defamation. The authority announced this at the request of WELT.
Accordingly, a so-called “preliminary investigation” was initiated – last July, after receiving a statement from the “Rammstein leader’s lawyer”. The group’s frontman is Till Lindemann, who is represented by a Berlin law firm.
How PICTURE reported, Shelby Lynn is the defendant in the case. However, WELT said that no one had been incriminated in the investigation (so far).
At the end of May, Lynn reported on “X”, then still Twitter, about her alleged experiences at a Rammstein concert in Vilnius: she had been drugged by people close to the band. Shortly afterwards, Lindemann wanted to have sex with her in a room under the stage – during a break in the concert. That didn’t happen; she left the room in time. She later discovered hematomas on her body.
The Northern Irishwoman called in the police at the time and filed a criminal complaint against an unknown person; However, the proceedings were discontinued. Public prosecutors’ investigations in Berlin – triggered by public statements from third parties – against Lindemann and one of the singer’s assistants did not lead to charges due to a lack of evidence.
In Vilnius, the authorities are now dealing with the allegations made. Lynn herself told WELT on Thursday afternoon that she knew nothing about the investigation.
