Bavaria’s new Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter (CSU) was hardly in office when he had to play the fireman in March 2022. Construction on the largest project in the Free State, the second main line of the Munich S-Bahn, was threatened. Costs skyrocketed and money was tight. A video conference with Ronald Pofalla, board member of Deutsche Bahn (DB), should bring clarity on March 14, 2022. DB is building the new tunnel route in Munich on behalf of the Free State.
