The EU Commission raided Continental and other tire manufacturers in Europe on Tuesday on suspicion of a tire cartel. The EU Commission explained that it was about possible price agreements for new replacement tires for cars, vans, trucks and buses. “The Commission is concerned that price coordination has taken place between the inspected companies, including through public communication,” it said. The authority did not comment on the companies affected. A spokesman for Conti said that investigations by the European antitrust authorities had been ongoing at the company’s premises since Tuesday.
