Did Burkhard Garweg, who went into hiding, produce the necessary documents for underground life for himself and his RAF comrades-in-arms? Investigators found evidence of this

The wanted suspected RAF terrorist Burkhard Garweg apparently ran a forgery workshop. In a construction trailer in Berlin that was believed to be Garweg’s hiding place, utensils and devices were discovered that could be used to forge documents, Friedo de Vries, head of the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office leading the investigation, told the weekly newspaper “Zeit.” The devices and tools have been confiscated and are currently being evaluated.

The LKA boss also said that Garweg is now probably traveling with a cover identity and a false passport of his own making.

Burkhard Garweg is still in hiding

The suspected former RAF terrorist Daniela Klette was arrested in Berlin at the end of February, where she lived under an assumed name. The search continues for their suspected accomplices Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub, who also belong to the former RAF command level and are said to have committed robberies together with Klette.

According to investigators, Garweg also lived in Berlin – apparently on a trailer lot used by members of the alternative scene. When it was stormed by the police, Garweg was not there.
