Radio play: “Folk” by John Burnside – Media

The Brit John Burnside takes radio plays seriously like few other authors. If he writes for the radio, then only for that. And not, as often happens, by adapting a story or stage play into a radio play. Every time, Burnside chooses materials that only really work acoustically. There are no images like in the film, no descriptions or paraphrases like in literature. The radio play can deal particularly freely with time and space, with reality and fantasy, and in rapid alternation.
