Racist tags in town and a cyberattack in town hall

Tension remains high in the town of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins in Loire-Atlantique. The day after the demonstration in support of the resigning mayor, several racist tags were discovered painted in the streets, on the walls of houses. The messages evoke their opposition to migrants and to the project to set up a reception center for asylum seekers (Cada). The police opened an investigation.

The day before, the Saint-Brévin town hall had been the victim of a cyberattack. Service servers, messaging and telephones are affected. The switchboard works, specifies the municipality.

That same day, nearly 3,000 people, including many elected officials, had demonstrated in the streets of the seaside resort to express their support for Yannick Morez, the mayor of Brevin. The latter announced his resignation on May 10 following threats and violence to which he has been subjected for several months for having supported the relocation of a migrant accommodation center near a school.
