Quick recipes for after work – made quickly with just five ingredients

Christian Henze has no time to lose. Standing at the stove for hours in the evening, “rocking the kitchen with a lot of effort” is out of the question for him. From his point of view, the effort could be kept as low as possible. The star chef has been showing for years how this can be done without having to resort to pizza or junk food every day with his bestselling cookbook series “After-Work Blitz Recipes”. Vegetables play the main role in his latest work.

“Once you start caramelizing vegetables really well, braising them or cooking them under the grill with sophisticated spices, you have a paradise that is on a par with any piece of meat in terms of enjoyment,” says Henze. Whether coleslaw wrap with mango or crispy kimchi sandwich with Asian cream, horseradish savoy cabbage with mushrooms and orzo pasta or grilled teriyaki tofu with celery – the recipes from the Express, One Pot, To go and Comfort Food chapters have one mean. According to Henze, they are quick and easy to make, are ready on the table in no time, and make the whole family’s mouth water.

The winning formula for after-work quick recipes

Henze’s formula for success is as usual: easy, quick and no orgy of ingredients. In addition to basic ingredients such as oil or tomato paste, a maximum of five other ingredients must be purchased per dish. This saves you the hassle of a time-consuming shopping trip in advance and eases the strain on your budget. For many dishes, only one pot or pan is required, which saves time-consuming washing up afterwards. The icing on the cake: Vegetable cooking is not only cheaper, it also gives you a clear conscience. “Less meat, fish and sausage is good for all of us, and it also protects resources in the environment and your own wallet,” explains Henze.

We present five of the everyday recipes from Christian Henze in the recipe section above.
