Polo instead of parade? If that’s the reason why Prince Harry is staying away from the Queen’s anniversary, royal trouble is likely to arise again.

The long weekend from 2nd to 5th June 2022 in Great Britain will be all about Queen Elizabeth II (96) and her platinum jubilee on the throne. Although the big event is less than a month away and Harry (37) and his family are said to be invited, there is still uncertainty as to whether the Sussexes will also make the trip from the USA. According to a new article in the British Daily Mail Harry might even be staying away from the celebrations for a reason that could further damage his already shattered relationship with the royal family.

The site says Omid Scobie, 40, the Sussexes’ friend and author of the telly book Finding Freedom, says Harry has signed up for three US polo tournaments: May 9-15, from May 20th to 29th – and from June 3rd to 19th. If he really wants to attend the last appointment, it would be almost impossible for him to attend the Queen’s jubilee. Unless he’s just dropping by for the “Trooping the Color” kick-off on June 2nd and then immediately on his way back to his adopted home of the USA.

Is the journey too unsafe for him?

When Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan (40) made a detour to the Queen before their trip to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, she personally invited the two to the anniversary, it said. The surprise visit at the beginning of April was initially interpreted as a sign that the waves between Harry/Meghan and the royal family could have smoothed out again.

But a little later, Harry worried in another TV interview for renewed irritation in Great Britain. A trip to Great Britain would therefore not fail due to his close relationship with his grandmother. So he really wanted to “make sure that my children can meet them”.

However, his plan could fail precisely on the subject of security: “I don’t know if I will come. There are numerous problems with security and with everything else.” The background: Since “Megxit”, Harry and Meghan have had to pay for their own safety and that of their two children.
